This work had as objective to evaluate the effect of plastic tubes of volume capacity of 56, 115, 180 and 280 cm ³ for production of sudlings of Anadenanthera macrocarp Benth. (angico vermelho), Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi (aroeira pimenteira), Cedrela fissilis Vell. (cedro rosa) and speciosa Chorisia st Hill. (paineira). The experiment was lead in two phases, the first one in the mursey and second was in the field. The mixed was formed by organic composition, moinha of coal and vermiculita, in the volumetric ratio of 7:2: 1. The sowing was carried through directly in plastic tubes, being led for group of bencheses in the shade house, where later the looping was carried through, leaving in each plastic tube the change of bigger vigor. Five days after, the changes had been taken for group of bencheses the full sun, where they had been irrigated normally and they had remained until the end of the mursey phase. The alternation of tubetes in the trays was carried through when the changes had reached average of 15 cm of height, leaving 50% of the empty cells. The sowing was made a fertilization of covering to the 120 days after. The evaluations had consisted of monthly measurements from 60 days after the sowing for the height of the stem and from the 90 days for the root collar diameter until the 180 days, time of expedition of the changes for the field. In this last measurement they had been also evaluated the stem and root dry weight, weight of dry substance of the system to radicular, 11 leaf area and gotten the weight of total dry substance, relation weight of dry substance of the system to radicular and weight of dry substance of the aerial part and the index of quality of Dickson. For the field phase, of each species and treatment average height and diameter had been selected dumb of. After that the dumbs had been planted in area next to the edge to Rio Guandu, in the City of Seropédica, state Rio de Janeiro. been used changes produced in tubetes of 56 cm ³. It was evaluated survival percentage to the 30 days and 180 days the plantation the height of the aerial part and the col diameter. One evidenced that the changes produced in tubetes of 280 cm3 had presented significantly superior morphologic characteristics of excessively tubetes, e that the changes produced in tubetes of 56 cm³ had been of worse quality. In the field phase, it was verified that did not have significant differences of survival percentage of the plants, originary of the different volumes of tubete, except for Cedar, where happened of tubetes of 280 cm³ had presented tax of significantly superior survival to the ones of excessively tubetes. For all the species, it did not have significant differences of growth in height and col diameter of the plants.pt_BR
